Hi, Nepatsfan, I did as you suggested, and went through a couple of dozen
events, in both application and system, and found nothing that could help
me.. any other ideas? I think the next time I will try to take a
screenshot.. but don't think I will be successful in the process of setting
down.. hugs Rainy
I get this prompt that an application needs to shut down when I begin to
restart
my computer, I can barely see it.. it's app...... with a mess of letters and
numbers after it.. it goes by so quickly I can't recall the exact name of it
and
can't research it.. is there a way to find out what it is saying in a log
maybe?
Appreciate any help.. Rainy
Rainy,
You might want to check Event Viewer.
Go to Control Panel and open Administrative Tools.
In the Administrative Tools folder, double click on Event Viewer.
In Event Viewer, click on Application in the left hand pane.
You should now see a list of events displayed in the right hand pane.
Note: You might want to filter this list by clicking on the View menu on the
toolbar at the top of the window and selecting Filter. In the properties
sheet
that's displayed, uncheck Information and click OK. You should now see only
errors and warnings displayed in the right hand pane.
Look through the list for an event that occurred when you shutdown your
computer
and see if it contains some hint about what program is hanging. If you don't
find anything helpful in the Application branch of Event Viewer, use the
same
procedure to check the System branch.
Good luck
Nepatsfan
