Please help.
I have a Word 2002 (SP3) document in which I am using outline
autonumbered paragraphs. I don't like the way they look, so I reformat
the indentation and the hanging indent (using Format | Styles |
Modify).
When I select *Update to match selection*, all of the other paragraphs
of that style change, as I expect.
The paragraphs renumber from the very 1st instance, so that instead of
1-3, 1-5, and 1-2 (two restarts), I now have paragraphs numbered 1-10
(no restarts). And I somewhat expect this as well.
However, when I restart the paragraph numbering in the second group,
the paragraph I just formatted changes back to what it was, as do all
the others (autonumbering restarts as desired). This is most definitely
NOT what I expect.
What am I doing wrong?
