almost once a day my computer "restarts". I'll be
running a program, from solitaire to outlook to
everything in between, and my computer just reboots out
of no where. i won't tell it to reboot it just does.
when it comes back up it says that windows had a serious
error caused by a driver that it can't determine. what
do i do. I have sp2 and all the latest updates installed.

You are configured to restart on error. Control panel---system---advanced tab.
Turn that off so when the error occurs you can investigate it. Don't forget to
look in the event log.

In addition to the other advice - I would also be
sure that there is no hardware causing the restart.
Memory, HD, Sound card, usp port -- all of that
stuff could be causing the problem.
