Restart Windows - now stuck

I've just restarted my PC and it's 'stuck' on - 'Getting Wiindows ready Don't turn off your computer'
It's been doing it for about 25 minutes or more.
How long should I wait before - Turning off my computer' or is there something else I can do?

Sometimes takes forever. Leave well alone and go out for a walk. Usually comes right - eventually.

I've recently had a similar experience and it was just a large update but all well now.

it's restarted now after more than an hour, thank goodness.
Next time I'll try just turning it off and starting from scratch.

thanks nivrip, that's basically what I did. I always think it's something I've done wrong!!!

I did my wife’s laptop recently and yes it was taking ages I was thinking of turning off them back on but left it another 30 mins and sure enough it sorted its self out.

I have the same issue .. i don't have really patience i don't know what to do

Don't DO anything. Just wait. Go and do something else while you're waiting - don't sit and watch it.

It will come right given enough time.

I agree sometimes it takes forever to load... Once I was waiting 8 hours for the update to finish
