I recently bought an iPod that came with some faulty software, and apparently
it messed with my computer. I remember when I had Windows XP that you could
press F10 as it started up to reset it completely... but does anyone know how
to do that with Windows Vista?

That facility was specific for that brand of computer (i.e. the manufacturer
had a restore partition on your hard drive and pressing the F10 key at
startup allowed you to reinstall the software to the state it was when you
first got the machine). Check the documentation that came with your machine.
