I am still having problems with the system purchased last thursday
after 2 motherboard changes and a cd burner change.....
when installing hardware eg the [VIA 4 in one and the magic keyboard
utilities] install calls for reset the system actually powers right
down with a couple of error beeps
[1 long and two short i think]...
after pressing the power button the machine starts but generates an
error "the cpu host clock has been changed" or similar even though it
is reading correctly 133 mhz FSB cpu 1667 MHZ...i have
pardon me for being very paranoid about the 8K3A series boards
[initially had 8K3AP x 2 of - then changed to 8K3A+]
i find in the bios that the usual setting i use for 2000+ CPU is not
available [12.5x133] and it has to be set on auto to run at the
correct speed...i checked the CPU compatibility charts published by
epox and find that the only 1400, 2100 and 2600 cpu's are recommended
for 8K3AP....so why was this board supplied with this CPU??...why is
bios forgetting the cpu ratio settings even though they are
right...the last thing i need is to have this error pop up directing
the user to play with the cpu setup....
thanks for any and all replies
