Yes, we understand the problem. (There's no need for a second message just
3 minutes later. Sometimes we're on a coffee break. <g> )
WinXP is set - by default - to Automatically restart on System failure. A
simple reboot fixes a lot of computer problems, as you probably know. But,
when it doesn't work, we're left with no clue as to what to do next. So,
let's change that default behavior...
Go to System Properties | Advanced | Startup and Recovery Settings. Under
System failure, remove the check from the Automatically restart box.
Next time, you'll have all the time you need to read the BSOD (Blue Screen
of Death) before you push the Restart button. If you can't figure out the
codes yourself, post them - verbatim - into your next message and some guru
here (not me!) should be able to point you in the right direction.
