Hi, Jim and Thane, thanks for your quick responses.Jim your suggestion didnt
work for me sorry. But ThaneI dont quite understand your response only
because Iam a little computer illiterate. idont quit understant how to do
all the processes you suggested.Maybe you can explain ,thank you again.

Ok sorry, I'll try to be more specific. I noticed that when installing some
older games or demos, I would receive that error. I discovered the problem
was because the installer couldn't read it's files from the temp folder. I
don't know if this is because the location of the temp folder in XP uses
long folder names or if it is because it's in a hidden location, but I found
that if I changed the path of my temp folder to a different location and ran
setup again it would work every time. So here's how to go about it:

To change the location of your temp folder to one that the game can read
from right click My Computer, select Properties, and click the Advanced tab.
Next click the Environment Variables button and you'll see TEMP and TMP
listed at the top. Click on TEMP and click the Edit button; in the Variable
Value field change the location to C:\Windows\Temp. Now do the same for TMP
and click the OK button. From now on programs will store their temp files
there and your games should be able to read from it and install.

I hope that made sense, and if you have any problems just post back here
again. :)
