I have just updated my photo gallery in the local site but after I've
published it to the server it remaines unmatched. The file server page
doesn't show any photos whilst the local page is fine. How do I force the
publish to get the two to match?
many thanks.

In Remote Site View, select the files you want to publish, right-click the
selection, and choose Publish Selected Files.

I have performed many "Full Publish" and it does not fix the problem. I have
even removed and re installed the program with no luck. My files were ok
until I got an error message while publishing to the remote website. After
that more than half of my web pages and files are umatched. Maybe Microsoft
will join the discussion with a suggestion that works.

alrighty then.

btw, what did the error message say?

reinstalling FP will not solve the problem.

try this..
open the website live (the one on the server)
Tools | Recalculate Hyperlinks
close the online web
Open the local web
Tools | Recalculate Hyperlinks
Now:
File | Publish...the whole thing not just changed pages

and don't use the shortcut Publish button.

| Do not remember what it said. Did not think it was an issue at the time.

Does not help. If you publish selected files one at a time and do not use the
"Publish Web Site" button the files are ok. But as soon as you use the
"Publish Web Site" button the files go back to unmatched. This problem just
started with me about a week ago.

Thats what I said...do not use the Publish Site button...use File | Publish
Site...not the button on the tool bar.
Publishing single pages is probably not a good idea either.

Rob/Crash--thanks very much; funny this should be a curent post as I've been
experiencing the same problem since my host moved servers. I could NOT get
the files to stay 'matched'. AND, it really mucked up my photo galleries,
even tho the code looked perfect. It's still a mystery, but this did solve
the issue for the galleries. Fingers crossed that the rest of it behaves as
well. :)

Now, want to throw me a link so I can re-create the site as a DWT with a
lovely .css as well? argh, the more I learn, the harder it gets. :)
Thanks again!

PS: the only confusion was over the term 'the publish button'. When you go
to File-->Publish Site, the Remote Site dialog box comes up. Set the publish
option to 'entire site' and then you *must* click the 'Publish Website'
button at the bottom of the 'Remote Web Site' view. Nothing to do with the
toolbar, but you do still have to push a button.

evidently I spoke too soon.
Somewhere between publishing part of the photogallery and the end of
publishing the last of the photos to the server, something happened.

This text appears on the live page:

[photogallery/photo00006596/photogallery/photo00006596/real.htm]

Once for each of the galleries. Then, all but one of the galleries does
actually appear further down the page (the photos).

That text looks wrong--it has the directory listed twice, but I can't see
where to edit it---the code on the page seems correct, and the version of the
above command looks like this:

<!--webbot bot="PhotoAlbum" U-Include="photogallery/photo00006596/real.htm"
clientside TAG="BODY" -->

I am in mystery.

hmmmm... "host moved servers" sounds suspect... maybe they wonked the FP
server extensions?!
Whats the URL for the problem web/page?

Sounds very suspect to me too--but I need to know what I'm talking about
before beating them up--they usually don't know much without some prompting.
Talk about the blonde leading the blonde!

Note that Bali disappeared. Ideas welcome. As I said, the command in the
'webbot' does not read the same as the string printing at the top of the
page. I inherited this site and really need to fix it.
thanks for the help!
