Resizing windows and Deleting status

I have a couple of questions:

1. How do I get certain windows in Vista to open to a different size? For
example, I want the Uninstall or change a program window to open a little
wider so I can see everything on each installed program line.

2. In my "Review your update history " window I have a Canceled status many
Failed statuses from over 2 years ago to now. I only want the Successful
updates attempts, how do I delete the others?

Yes but that's just temporary, I'm wanting to resize it permanently so that
every time I open it it is the size I want.

I'm not really worried about them but there's just no use for them to be
there.

For some programs, if you open the system menu (hidden on the upper left
frame of the window) and exit with Control-Exit, the program will remember
the size.

Or try the File menu, then Control-Exit.

Thanks Gene, neither one worked because there is only a close option in both
the System Menu and the File Menu but you got me playing with it again. If
you resize the window either horizontally or vertically using the
double-arrows the size will not be remembered when you close the window, but
I found that if you use the double-arrows and resize it diagonally it will
be the new default size. I open the Programs and Features window (uninstall
or change a program) from both the Start Menu and from Windows Explorer so I
had to do the diagonal adjustment for both the Control Panel window and the
Windows Explorer window.

Now if I can just figure out how to delete those pesky Canceled and Failed
status lines!

When I experience or hear about stories like that, I have to wonder how a
programmer can manage to introduce such a bug :-(

I mean the programmer must have had to really, really work at it to make it
fail in just that way.

Yeah, well...
