Can anyone help please?
My internet explorer window has decided to resize itself. Thus leaving a 1
cemtimeter gap at the top revealing my desktop. how can I resize the screen
to full size again?
It is nothing to do with the screen restore button on the top right corner.
Thank you in anticipation.

You accidentally dragged it down.

First, *close all other windows*. Now, grab the corners of
the window and drag it to full screen size. Close the window
using File>Close, or File>Exit depending what program you're
in. Windows will remember the last screen size used the next
time you open the program.

Close all other windows except IE. Minimize the IE window to your task bar.
Resize your Windows taskbar up a few rows. Then maximize your IE window,
then resize your Windows taskbar back to where it was.

If no joy, see the registry settings that need to be modified in this
article:
New Internet Explorer Window Opens Partially Off the Screen

Or, use the .reg or .vbs file, line 60 on the right column at this site:

If all else fails from the previous recommendations;
Copy and paste the below in your Browser window.
(No quotes)
"javascript:window.open(screen.availWidth,screen.availHeight)"

Always disclose your OS when you report problems please.

My guess is that you have XP and have been playing with your
magnifier utility?

In that case, assuming that your problem window is already in
maximized mode, press Win-U then toggle the magnifer on and off.

If this is not the case please confirm what mode the problem
window is in. E.g. press Alt-Space, and verify that only the
window menu's Restore and Minimize menu items are active
and not greyed out. Hint: it may be easier to detect which
menu item is greyed by using the cursor keys to see how they
look in reverse video as each is selected.

Good luck
