I have an IBM Thinkpad T30 that has WinXP Pro on it. I cannot get the
toolbar to size down to "1 icon high". I've unlocked the toolbar,
however I can't go any lower unless I bring it all the way down to the
bottom of the screen (where I can't see anything). The icons in the
notification area are stacked 3 across and 3 down (presumably to save
horizontal room) and the clock is displayed in:

8/6/03
Tuesday
10:51 PM

format. I'm assuming that if I could change the format of the date to
just display the time and if I could change the format of the icons to
display horizontally only, that would solve my problem. BTW, I've
already selected to hide the inactive icons.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Disable all 'extra' toolbars such as quick launch.
( right-click, toolbars, and uncheck all). Then resize
your taskbar, re-enable the toolbar(s) and LOCK YOUR
TASKBAR! (right-click lock the taskbar)

Click and drag the separator bar over to the right of the taskbar.
It's the separator that looks like four dots and then three dots
running side by side vertically. It seems to allow you do a double-
decker effect with the task bar. Once you drag the lower one to
the right of the taskbar, it allows you to resize the taskbar.
