Resizing Presenter view

I am trying to resize the thumbnails in the presenter view. A friend
downloaded the Macintosh trial version of the latest powerpoint program and
has the ability to drag all of the windows in the presenter view and resize
them as needed. He also has an extra floating window that shows exactly what
the projector is showing the audience.

I am using windows xp and powerpoint 2003 but when I go to my presesnter
view, everything seems to be locked out. I can't drag the windows and resize
them. The thumbnails on the left are almost useless in that I can barely
read large print on them. Also, I can't find that extra floating window.
Surely they would not have made that many options for the Mac and not made
them for windows? If anyone could tell me what I'm doing wrong I would
appreciate it.

You're not missing anything. Those features are not available on the PC. As
you can imagine, the development teams for the Mac and PC versions are separate
and their priorities are not always the same. There are functions that are
available on the PC but not the Mac and vice versa, and still others that work
differently on each platform.

The PC version of Presenter view does not support resizing.

You might want to look at PowerShow add-in at
http://officeone.mvps.org/powershow/powershow.html - it enables you to use
PowerPoint's design views on the laptop while the slide show is presented
through the projector. Look at
http://officeone.mvps.org/ppttips/view_notes_slideshow.html for the list of
steps to configure such a setup.
