Someone else asked this and the solution doesn't work.

How can I resize images in windows picture and fax viewer
so they don't email 3 times larger than the screen?

Please give specific insturctions. I tried to down load
from tinyurl .com the ImageResizer program but nothing
happens when I do. The screen just says "done" and
nothing is there and the program is not found on my
computer so I don't think it actually downloaded anything
at all.

1) Open a folder that contains image files.

2) Select one or more images.

3) Right click the selected image/s.

4) A menu will appear.

5) In the menu...you will have an option to "Resize Pictures"

It doesn't work. The list is still the same and resize
option isn't there.
Thanks, any thing else I could try?

Try this:

go to...Start / Run and type:

"REGSVR32 SHIMGVW.DLL"
(without the quotes)(Yes, there's
a space between 2 and S)

Click...OK.

If that doesnt help, reinstall the ImageResizer PowerToy.

If that doesn't help...I give up.

Troy, I needed same function and got the following reply
and this works like a treat!
Cheers
Mark

You want JPEG for web publishing..
To decrease the size of the file for e-mail, web
publishing etc.

Go to this site and download the free Image Resizer. Exe
file in one of your
folder.

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys
..asp

Once in your folder, double click on it to install it.

Once installed, you right click on a photo file (or on a
group of selected
photo files).

Click on Resize image on the opening menu.

A window will open, select the size you want.

New files will be added in your folder, same name as
original file but with
the word (small) added.

The first time you use it, you may not see Resize image
on the opening menu
after you right click on the file or if you see it, it
may not work. If so,
do the following:

Click on Run, click on Start and type the following in
the textbox:

REGSVR32 SHIMGVW.DLL

and press the Enter key.

Note that there is a space between ...32 and SHI.

Also, you can download a free batch converter from here:

http://irfanview.com/

It also does a lot of other things with images.

.
It works!!!!
Thanks to all.

I have the same problem and the solutions do not work on
===============================================
What is your *exact* problem and what solutions
have you tried?

===

Did you try this?:

go to...Start / Run and type:

"REGSVR32 SHIMGVW.DLL"
(without the quotes)(Yes, there's
a space between 2 and S)

Click...OK.

===

Did you download and install ImageResizer.exe?

Go to the following link:

http://tinyurl.com/36n

Then you can open any folder that contains
images and you will have an option to resize.
Just right click the selected image files and
choose Resize Pictures from the menu. You
can select one image or a whole group.

The program will place the resized copies in
the folder with your originals.
(Tip: *Never* overwrite your originals)

BTW...when resizing if you go to...Advanced
Button / Custom...and enter 640 in each field...
that will be a good size for e-mail purposes.
