I have downloaded and installed the "image resizer", the
calculator, and task switch utilities. None of them will
work, even after rebooting. I have uninstalled and
reinstalled them, without success.

I notice that the installer wants to install the utility
to C:\Windows\System32, but the search function can not
locate it there, even though attempts to install the
utility over the existing installation brings up a
dialog box that says the file already exists, but only in
C:\Windows\Downloaded Installations.

I have installed these to C:\Documents and Settings\ All
Users\Start Menu\Programs, where Powertoys are installed
on another computer, where it works, with no success. It
looks like I'm doing something wrong in all of these, but
I can not come up with any more ideas.

Your ideas would be greatly appreciated

To get image resizer to work.
First, right click on a photo. On the opening menu, see if you have the item
Resize picture listed.
If not:
Click on Start, click on Run and type the following in the textbox:
REGSVR32 SHIMGVW.DLL
and press the Enter key.
Note that there is a space between ...32 and SHI...
After this is done, right click on a photo file (or a group of selected
files). Click on Resize on the opening menu and follow directions in the
opening screen. This will add the new resized files in your folder.
