OK guys, 'redemption2' was right-on about resizing photos in FP
I took 2 photos 1-at 2288X1712 then went into my photo editing program and
reduced it down to the size I wanted it to look like on my front page -it
ended up 160X120. Then I took a photo at 640X480 and reduced that one too
down to 160X120. When I viewed them as they would look on my homwpage- they
were fuzzy. But then I did what redemption2 said was ok- I took the same
photo that was 2288X1712 (high quality) and simply reduced the size by
clicking on it on my web page and making it smaller,- the size I wanted, and
it looked much clearer than the other two when I viewed it.
I'll keep playing around with it.

What is the file size of the 2288X1712 image vs. the file size of the image you resized in your
image application?

You will need to trade some image quality for download time, as users will not wait long period of
time just to see images when on slow connections. There are many areas in the US that do not have
high speed service or it may not be affordable..

Thanks Thomas, dang I didn't take that into consideration. Duh!
Has it improved since FP2000? If I go by that it would take 800 seconds! But
when I go to view it on the web it's a quick moment BUT we are on digital
cable.
How do these large companies put up these large clear photos on their
websites without compromising the download time??
Pam

Yes, if they have a low bandwidth connection...

I have Olympus and Irfanview. I'll play more with Irfanview, I just
downloaded it yesterday. It seems redundant with what I have in Olympus but
maybe the quality of the photo is less effected when resizing as in the
Olympus program? What is the difference from resize and resample? I have been
hitting the resample option because in Irfanview it says it's better quality?
Many Thanks
Pam
