Gypsey,

1. Insert your picture
2. Go View> Zoom & select the % that will show all your picture in the
window
3. Resize your picture by selecting it and dragging the corner handles of
your image.
4. Move your picture to where you want it on the slide.
5. Change View>Zoom back to "Fit"

6. Your pictures are probably very large so you may want to then compress
them by right-clicking on one of them, selecting "Format Picture" and then
"Compress".... follow the instructions from there.

I am totally new to Power Point and am using it for the first time on m
computer. I have version 2000. I've been trying to use the hel
tutorial but it's getting me nowhere with this problem.

When I have inserted my digital pictures into a new slide it makes th
image extremely large and only shows about 1/3 of the total picture.
have not been able to find anywhere to resize the slide.

Can someone help me?

Thanks,
Gyps

Click on the image, then with your mouse, slide the whole
picture to one side, so you can see the edge. You should
see a 'node' at the corner. If you mouse over this, your
pointer will turn into a diagonal arrow. Hold down the
shift key, and drag your mouse toward the center of the
pic. Your image should resize smaller. Once it is smaller
than the slide itself, you can adjust to the correct
size, following the same procedure. Just make sure your
image is 'highlighted' - you'll see the nodes on all the
corners.

Good Luck.
