My server does not have disk space in partition c:
I can't install, for example, the Partion Magic, because the same reason

In your opinion, what solutions i have to resize the partition of my
server?...

All answers will be apretiated.

Hello Nuno,

Did you cleanup your drive with diskcleanup and remove not used temp files,
etc.> Did you delete the content of c:\winnt\softwaredistribution after stopping
automatic update service? Also you can delete the $uninstallKBxxxxxx folders
to free up some space if you are sure that you have no need for uninstalling
patches. Or just move them to another drive to free some space.

Best regards

Meinolf Weber

Just install a second harddrive. Even if it's just a small one, such
as a 20gig. Then install Partition Magic on the new drive. or move
non-applications to the new drive, such as photos, saved documents,
etc. Then defrag, and after that, install Partition Magic and change
your partitions. I'd suggest doing a backup first.

You don't actually *need* to install PM at all. The PM install CD allows
you to create boot floppies that will run PM from a dos boot. Assuming
you have (or can create) sufficient space on the first hard drive (if
you don't, you can't extend your c-partition anyway) you can use this
method to extend the c-partition without resorting to a second HD. Or
simply create a second partition on the first drive and move some
applications etc there.

Thank you for all your answers...

I know i can use the Partition Magic and how use it...
But after resize the partition, when i start up the system there is no error
messages like in Win XP.

Thanks,

I noted this is post on the year 2008, but the situations are the same and I hope it could help others.

In this situation could create a partition software bootable CD and then boot from the CD to manage the partition, but to be safe CHECK DISK and Defrag are needed. Also do not forget backup important data. And then you could follow this tutorial: http://www.partition-magic.org/server/extend-system-partition-c-drive.html
