I have a sony vaio laptop model PCG-7FCP. I have windows xp loaded on it at the moment but i want to take the entire laptop back to the factory settings when i first bought it(without windows etc), but i can only find an other that allows me to restore back a few months... how do i completely reset it?

You'll need to use the installation CDs that were provided when you first got the laptop. One of them should be a Windows Installation or "restore" disk, if you boot up with that in your laptop you should be able to perform a format and re-install windows.
However, you will lose everything on the laptop at the moment- documents, bookmarks, e-mails, everything.
