Having used the pc foe a while now I would like to reset
windows xp pro to how it was when I first installed. Is
this possible without losing all my software and
applications

Hi

What problems have you got? If you post the details, someone may be able to
help. A 'reset' would depend on what kind of XP CD you have, but could mean
losing programs and data files.

If you literally mean "how it was when [you] first installed," no
it's not possible. Restoring Windows to its initial state means
restoring the registry also, and since almost all applications
but the trivial have registry entries, and at the very least
those registry entries will be lost and the apps won't run.

Depending on where the apps are and how you restore, you may also
dlete the apps themselves.

Why do you want to do this?
