I have some questions on a HP printer:, i will put them 1 by 1:
The printer is a Photosmart 7960.
After refilling the cartridges, (## 56, 57, 58) there is a procedure to
reset the indication they are empty. This is to glue off 1 contact and then
an other one. 1e Question: this procedure does not work since some time. Do
i do it wrong, is there a new one ore has HP made this impossible so we will
buy new cartridges? Second isn't there a more elegant why, kind of software
ore so?
Thanks for help,

If you want to reset the ink levels, the best way is to roate 3
cartridges thru the printer. The printer only keeps a record of the
level for 2 cartridges. You need to keep 2 old cartridges and put
them in one after the other until they register.

I usually wait until the calibration page prints. Blank if you use
empty carts. Then put the next one in. When you put the good one in
again it should show full.
If you are just resetting one type ie Black or colour leave the other
cart out until the original is back in.

Works for me

Well proof of some of the exaggerated claims is here. Looks like all is
not rosy in the bed of flowers.
