recently i downloaded mozilla firebird to give it a try.
i mistakenly selected it as my default browser. after a
couple days, i decided to go back to IE. I removed
firebird, but now i'm having some problems -- it appears
IE is not my default browser, tho it's the only one i
have now. My mail program (incredimail) doesn't know
what to do when I click a link -- nothing happens --
normally a window would open in IE) and the same happens
with other programs. at this point, the one and only way
for me to open IE is to manually open it from my start
menu or desktop. How can i reset IE as my default
browser? thanks

btw -- i have already set IE to check to make sure it's
the default browser -- i'm not getting a box, like i
expected, to let me choose it as the default. it's as if
IE thinks it's my default, but none of the other programs
do.

Open Internet Explorer > Tools > Options > Programs and enable the option:
"Internet Explorer should check to see whether it is the default browser"
Close IE and open again. Click YES if you are prompted to set it as default browser.

(or)

Download the .reg fix. Set Internet Explorer as default browser:
http://www.mvps.org/sramesh2k/reg/IE_Default_Browser.reg

* Use this only if IE is installed in its default location [c:\Program Files\Internet Explorer] *
