To get the download dialog box, enable the "confirm open after download"
option for that filetype:
Click "Start" -> "Program Files" -> "Windows Explorer".
Then click "Tools" -> "Folder Options".
Change to the "File Type" tabs.
Scroll down to locate the file type. Highlight the filetype (example :"PPT
Microsoft PowerPoint Presentation") and click the "Advanced" button.
Then check the option "confirm open after download".
Also, set the "NoSelectDownloadDir" to "0"

I need to change my IE settings to prompt to save or open
a word, ppt, xls file, etc. vs automatically open. Can
you tell me where I'd find/change that setting? I've
looked everywhere!
