My friend recently bought a computer from an estate sale and the
Administrator account is the only account on there..."The password hint is
ruberband will". The guest account has been disabled, and I am having a
hard time with password reset disks for some problem, do they need to be
extracted before they are able to be bootable discs?? I have also tried
pushing Ctrl+Pause when the scanning memory screen comes on....What can I
do? I have also went into setup and changed the BIOS settings

I don't have WinXP Pro, only WinXP Home, so I hope this helps
1. At the log in screen " ctrl-alt-delete " twice.
2. In the User Account, type Administrator
3. Leave the password blank and press enter.
(Most likely a password wasn't created in this hidden account during setup).

If you decide to set a password it is recommended that you create a Password
Reset Disk by clicking on "Prevent a Forgotten Password" link in the left pane.
The Wizard will guide you through.
