Can someone please remind me what to do to make it a
necessity to use a password to start up messenger,
instead of it logging on automatically without a
password? i have XP and used to know how to do it, but
have forgotten. thank you

Hi,
If it's signed in, sign out, then go to the sign in
option, NOT THE Sign In as... option, and chose NOT to
remember the username and password on this machine - leave
the box unchecked. That should do it.

Greetings,

To stop the automatic login and require a password, click the Start Button, then click the
Control Panel. Then, click User Accounts in the Control Panel. Select your account name, and
then on the left side of the screen, under Related Tasks, click 'Manage my Network
Passwords'. In the window that opens, click the Passport.Net\* (Passport) entry and click
'Remove'.
