I get the error message "This update
requires Internet Explorer 6.0 to be installed". with a
recent software application installed on my home computer.
the software files did not include IE 6. I just upgraded
to Office 2000 but it has a lower version of IE.

I use the Public library to access the internet and would
like to download version 6. However it apears that you can
only download AND INSTALL on the computer that is
connected to the internet.

I am frustrated with MS and tired of paying for
everything. they want me to pay for support, Pay for
shipping a new CD, Pay to call, Pay to email, pay to use
other peoples software. enough is enough

Why can't I just download the setup files to a zip drive
at the library and then take it home to install it? Why
can't FREE really mean FREE?

Does anyone have an answer?

If you dont have Internet access at home, then you will
need to get the C.D. or burn it at a fried's house or
something

Not necessarily. Download ie6setup to its own directory then
open a command window with current directory level there and
enter:
ie6setup /c:"ie6wzd /d:1"

There is other syntax often given but I think it just causes confusion
because it is so ambiguous and riddled with typos.
