required folder cannot be found iPod

hello i have been having problems with an older 20 gig iPod i have,
whenever i connect it to my pc i get the message, "required folder
cannot be found iPod". i dont know what this is and i have tried on
other machines and the same problem, is there a trick to retrieving
this file. thanks for the help
 
There's another thread on this topic right now "iTunes and My Music folder"
but not enough information from anyone to diagnose. I think the Apple forums
are the best way to proceed.
