Required best battery for my Laptop?

I have recently purchased a new HP laptop. I wanted to know how can I get the best battery life out of the 6-cell battery, since I have to travel a lot.

Buy a spare battery.

Use HP's power-saving software if they supply any.

There is no magic formula I'm afraid.

Buy a spare battery, but I think the spare battery is not OEM. Maybe it's not good for your PC. So don't use spare battery except in special situation.
