Requested URL could not be retrieved

I have a server client application running on ASP model which has been up for
nearly 2 years and people have been accessing it without problem till
recently one of my customer came back with a screenshot with the following
message:

ERROR
The requested URL could not be retrieved.

While trying to retrieve the URL: [no URL]

The following error was encountered:
Read Timeout

The system returned:
[No Error]

A timeout occured while waiting to read data from the network. The network
or server may be down or congested. Please retry your request.

Your cache administrator is root.

Any idea how can this happen?
