REQ: Why am getting skips when copying music CD?

I copied a music CD with my Plextor/Iomega 12x CD-RW. On
playback it had frequent skips. One of the CDs I took on our recent
trip had this same problem. So the problem may not be new, just
undetected.

Can anyone help?

Most likely bad media or the source (reader) drive isn't doing
accurate DAE. You might try different media, a slower burn speed, and
slower read speed from the source disc.

I suppose copy-protection measures could cause this but I don't have
any evidence to support that.

Look for an option "digital error correction" in your ripping
software or some such.
