Hi,

The other thing I was looking for was a way of making a telephone call
through a computer. I'm assuming that there is something available that
would allow me to talk through a microphone, and listen through the
speakers.

It would basically be a cheap alternative to buying a speakerphone.

Cheers,
Ant

If you have ISDN, Phoner can do that. With a modem, Willowphone claims to do
that, but I couldn't get it to work.

Any decent modem card will have two jacks at the back for just that
purpose. You can get the matching headset almost anywhere, though the
Radio Shack ones are the cheapest and most reliable. The Windows
Phone Dialer which has come with every version of Windows since 3.11
is all the software you need. Unfortunately, those b@stards that phone
you during dinner trying to sell you aluminium siding are using a
thrid party version of just that. ;-(
