Req: Saving Firefox bookmarks

M

ms

I searched and what was on ACF on this several weeks ago is gone, due to the
"flooding".

Need a small utility to save Firefox bookmarks and preferences.

Mozilla Backup

Works for Firefox and Thunderbird also.

Thanks, Eric. It backed up FF and TB fine. Then I went searching for the backups.
After going to the website forum, I found this:

"All my backup files were made at primary hard drive on a primary partition in
main folder.
In other words - c:\name of the backup file.pcv
where
"name of the backup file" is for example: Mozilla 1.4.1 - 2003-10-21.pcv"

Actually, I found it in my Mozilla folder, not as above.

Quite welcome. I should have said that I've never used it to restore.
I've just started using it myself to backup. I believe when you install
you can pick the location of the backup, though.

I used the no-install version, and in it you can browse to locations, also. There
was a tip on the forum that you can change the backup file extension to zip, then
open it with an archiver and see the contents- works fine.

I find Firefox can loose preferences from one cold boot to the next, just like
Netscape. So I now use MozBackup each night when I shut down. Haven't tried
Restore yet.
