NO

Not going to happen

You need to get the recovery DVD from the mfg of your machine

It's cheaper than purchasing a retail Vista disk. After all, they didn't
lose it, you did. Think of it as a fine!

I bought this notebook with a HDD, which has a capacity of 300 GB. 20 GB of memory are used for the recovery partition!
I`ve paid for 300 GB and i want this capacity. Besides a blank dvd costs less pennies...

Why don't you burn the recovery DVDs from the recovery partition. But
even then I would still keep the recovery partition. It is easier to
reinstall the system from there - and then you never know whether the
DVDs can be used when needed (maybe the DVDs don't work or the optical
reader is broken - as has happened to me).
On the other hand, it is unlikely that you will fill up the 300GBs of
your disk in the near future. So there is probably no urgency to free up
the 20 gigs.

Patrick Koppe thinks otherwise, but I agree completely with you on all
counts, and I second your advice.

Then winge at Acer, not here....
