Dear freeware guru's,

I'm looking for a piece of Freeware with which I can share Outlook (not
Outlook Express) . So that all users in the Network can share a Agenda and
can view all the recieved Messages.

There's $-ware which does the trick: www.public-outlook.com (TeamLink) or
www.workgroupshare.com

But... is there Freeware that does the same?

I might be thinking too simple but:

Create a PST (do not use compression or password - this will render it
unusabel)
Put it somewhere central on a server share
add the PST file to all outlook users
If needed, create a role that moves (or copies) newly send or received
messages to the .pst file

Yep, that would be simple. But it does not work that way. The PST's are not
designed to be used by more than one user at a time. Too bad, it doesn't
work...

Well, If you brush off your German....

Not designed for the use you have in mind, but with some creativity....

Well, maybe my German isn't that good... possible it's a bit rusty. But what
I think is that Easy2Sync is a tool to synchronise the Outlook data. That's
not what I was looking for. I would like to use the Outlook-data at the same
time at different PC's. Like there would be an Exchange-server in my
network.

Thanks for your input though, Max

I believe you need to use Microsoft's Exchange format?

Just a thought.

Hi Max,

sorry to dissapoint you- but there are not such free
tools..unfortunately. We ourselves are somehow involved into this
field, but to our knowledge there is not such free tool.

Can it be done withut a server version in the first place. I can't see the
pst file on my Windows LAN.

Chrissy -

Sharing PST's in real-time, with or without a server cannot be done AT
ALL. When Outlook has a PST opened it opens it exclusively and does not
let go of it until the Outlook program is closed, even if the PST is
closed out of the Outlook session. The only way to share a PST is to
have one person use it, close it, close Outlook, then have another
person open it up.

If it were possible to share PST's real time, natively, or with an
add-on, Microsoft would be shooting itself in the foot with Exchange
Server sales.

Thanks, John and I agree with all of the above. It's a bit of a pisser when
MS supports a Windows driven network then denies access to the .pst across
that network, one user at a time.
