I have a strange situation with this computer that I don't understand.
It has three SDRAM sockets which had 256MB, 128MB and 128MB. I wanted
to switch a 128MB for a 256MB. So I pulled the center module.
When I turned the computer on, an extraordinarily long boot reminded
me that I had forgotten to replace the memory module. But it
seemed to work okay.
I sent several emails and shut down. Then I went to my second
computer and sent a message to myself.
I rebooted first computer and found the email I sent myself did not
arrive. I determined that I was not receiving email at all.
Then I noticed that the computer calendar/clock reflected the time
several days earlier from the day I pulled the memory. So I re-
installed ther memory module that I had pulled and reset the time.
Now I find that the clock stops when I shut down.
Any idea what this means?
