I am looking for a newsreeder that supports decoding yEnc files. I don't
want to have to save a file to disk, and then decode it only to find out
that it's something I don't want.

All help on this Appreciated.

Have you tried putting yProxy between OE and your newsserver?

Newsreaders include

Gravity
Xnews
Dialog
BNR2
PowerGrab
Grabit

I would like to try, But How would I do that. Will Outlook Express then
decode the yEnc files?

Nice, easy, free binary grabber (yEnc decoder built in), doesn't show you
parts, shows them as if already combined and automatically d/l & decodes all
parts: GrabIt

As a Form Moderator at Shemes.com, let me also add that GrabIt also
supports downloading of incomplete parts, and a new release with
(among other things) .nzb support, is around the corner.

Be warned, however, that GrabIt does not natively decode MIME encoded
files. There is alternate freeware available to do that, however -
http://www.funduc.com/otsoft.htm hosts the Decode Shell Extension for
your use to decode MIME files - it plugs in to your Windows Explorer
as a Context menu item (meaning that when you encounter a file that
was not decoded b/c of MIME encoding, then you right click on the file
and then select Decode....)
