It has served me well.

But suddenly, when I powered up this AM, it wouldn't come on. I have
checked all connections and tried other receptacles - the CRT simply
will not come on. The Indicator light on the front remains dark, so I
figure the internals are getting no power.

In the hope that I merely need a fuse, I want to take a look-see
before I give up on it. But I can't figure out how to remove the
darned plastic case. I have removed every screw that I can find, but
it won't budge.

Can anyone suggest what's holding the thing together that I can undo?

Thanks

Generally speaking, when a fuse blows it's because of another, more
serious problem. The fuse blew to PROTECT other components from
failure (or fire, take your pick), but whatever the original fault, it
should be corrected prior to installing a new fuse, else you may do
even more damage than already exists.

If you're not practiced in repairing monitors it's probably not a good
idea to be inside one, given the high voltage.

I don't know about that particular monitor, but sometimes they have
screws on the sides with cover plates, long thin plastic inserts,
hiding them. Those inserts can be pryed backwards and out with
anything, like a knife blade.

Check the space between the backcover and the frontcover. It should contain
a few small openings. Use a small screwdriver to pop them open. When you've
opened it ask your self these questions: Do I know what I am doing? and why
did the fuse got fried. Electronics can be fun to play with but when you get
zapped by 300V DC the fun is over and in comes the pain. Trust me on this
on, I got zapped many times

Any good luck.

I got it off - fuse was blown - replaced it - using CRT now/have been
for 15 hours now. All seems fine,

Thanks
