Hi all,
Can anyone tell me of a program/utility which will give information on
a font's type ie...whether it's serif or sans serif etc?

I know I could visually check each font, but with hundreds available,
that would be a bit laborious.

I need something like this for creating font families in CSS, so if
anyone can help, it would be much appreciated.

TIA.

I posted a similar question in the Word group. I was sent a link for a macro
that created a Word document with a sample of each font. I have SCADS
(meaning more than enough) of fonts and wanted some idea what they looked
like. It won't tell you whether it's serifed or not but at least I can see
what they look like. With that many fonts I just kind of pick a place.
Generally I'm just looking for something different for my newsletter - and I
can usually find something that will do.

What I really need to do is to uninstall the fonts that are really bad! If I
ever used some of those I'd be kicked out of the organization, not just
removed from doing the newsletter. :-)

Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif
Times New roman. Times, serif
Courier New, Courier, mono
Georgia, Times New roman, times, serif
Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif
Geneva, Arial, Helvetica, san-serif
Don't forget to use these in you CSS... not as fornt tags which are now
deprecated.
Eleanor
