I tried to install XP PRO on my 8G c drive. Not only won't the XP CD
boot, but if I use the XP boot floppies I generated from MS downloads,
the setup fails because it insists I need 'sp1.cab' which sounds
terribly like I need service pack 1. What is going on?

Obtaining Windows XP Setup Boot Disks

There are two different versions of setup disks for Windows XP.
If you have a Windows XP CD without Service Pack 1, you need to use
the first set listed. If you have a Windows XP CD that includes SP1,
then use the ones listed at the bottom of the page.

Go into the BIOS and set it to boot from the CD

Are you sure your system is up to the job of running XP. A 8gig hard drive
is really not adequate if you intend to add other software.
