InCD - the packet writer program with Nero - is a program separate from Nero. That is, you can have either one and not the other. You should be able to install/uninstall whichever you want.

Many thanks for Your info!
......But INCD is not FREE!
and the installation is correlated to the presence of NERO.
If I'm wrong, please show me a link where i can DL a free version of
INCD!

Maybe it was assumed, that you had the paid Nero/InCD combination and just
wanted to get rid of Nero because of it's size. In that case, you could just
use InCD.
If you don't have a valid key for InCD, and want to use a freeware program
for packet writing, be advised to make backups of your CD-RWs to CD-Rs
first, because not all packet writing software will interact with each other
without problems. If you have a lot of software to backup, maybe a second
hard drive would be helpful, or, if you have a DVD burner, a lot of data
fits onto a DVD. To keep it dynamic, you could use DVD-RWs.
Good luck

Been a while since I had Nero installed but IIRC there is an option on install to pick what you want. If Nero has to be installed, install it and InCD then dump Nero.

As I said, it has been a while but Nero upgrades - free - used to include InCD. But don't you already have it? You said you wanted to get rid of Nero implying that you were using it for packet writing. I explained about InCD because Nero *has* no packet writing ability other than its ancillary program (InCD).

To the best of my knowlege, there is no freeware for packed writing
(UDF) CDRWs. As for the CDRW media itself, it's junk. VERY unreliable.
I experienced a very high formating failure rate, a high write failure
rate and to add insult to injury, a high READ failure rate. Finally,
discs that I wrote several months back and which were readable at one
point have now become unreadable. I've finally given up on CDRW and
packet writing, and use CDRs with ISO exclusively at this point.

I think I was thinking of DLA (drive letter access) that is on RecordNow updates when I wrote the above.

Another option is abCD which is/was Prassi's packet writer. It was also distributed by Sony and is still available there. See my dandies (below) as mentioned in my first post for more info/link.

So because you are too stupid to succesfully do what thousands have been
doing for years now, it's junk? Give it up Johnny, you're not influencing
anyone talking like this...
