Only wants to look up three-letter words? :)

Nope.

A comprehensive list of 2 letter words is invaluable for Scrabble but
you won't be finding it in a small dictionary...

96 words . . .

a very, very, very small dictionary that would be :)

On the TWL98 list perhaps.

I think you will find that the SOWPODS list, as used in the UK and
most Commonwealth countries, runs to 121 words.

A substantially larger dictionary.

Thanks for that - you clearly know more about it than I do.
A substantially larger dictionary.

Yes indeed - a twenty-six percent increase. :)

Naah; your '96 words' post brought out the competitive pedant in me
and I went for a look around... :-)

Assuming that's true, you must have a lot of time on your hands to bother to
even look that up. ;)

Why on earth would one need a small dictionary?

Not a small dictionary, I was referring above to a smaller install file.
I used to see dictionaries in the 2 MB size.

Speaking of which, see my reply to your post on Folders Report.

FYI for future one-upmanship competitions - I just grabbed the count
given at Steve Trussel's site:

http://www.trussel.com/

I got my list here:

http://phrontistery.50megs.com/scrabble3.html

Not a patch on your site
Steve has Japanese Scrabble Words (how many people know where to find
those?)

For a scary moment I thought you were alluding to a Japanese scrabble
set. Having seen Japanese typewriters, the thought of a Japanese
scrabble set is interesting to say the least.

I know you don't care about spelling <eg>, but for the record,
it's Mysterians.

I'll play. I just looked it up, and, for the record[1], it's "? &
The Mysterians", according to Billboard Magazine. :)

I didn't want to correct you too much at once. ;)
[1]No pun intended.

You are not allowed to un-intend a pun that I've already intended.

:-P~~

one simply *must* make time for the important things . . .

like Scrabble . . . ;)

I got 525 points in a head to head once.

185 on a single word across two triple word scores.

(figures approx but close enough)

*smug*
