Hi.

I'm looking for a freeware 'Chinese Checkers' dos/windows game. I'm
hoping for a standalone version, not online games.

Have searched google, but only found two shareware ones ('Championship
Chinese Checkers' and 'Carls Classics'), one commercial one ('Hoyle
Board Games'), a mac-version ('Etoille') and one for Linux ('Gnome
Chinese Checkers').

Thanks in advance!

There is a freeware DOS Chinese checkers program that I use and it has
pretty good graphics and play (175KB unzipped). In Win98SE, I click
on the shortcut and the program starts in DOS. I'll sent it to
alt.binaries.freeware if you like or e-mail.

Regards,
Joe

Many thanks for the offer, Joe.
But I believe it is shareware?
It is today - http://www.imagisoft.com/chinese.htm

Perhaps you have a older freeware version?

Hi Vegard,

It doesn't seem like so. Wherever I got it from there was no mention
of "shareware" included in its files. Hm, that's a bit of a bummer
to learn ... I kinda liked the program. I can live without it though.
Freeware has been very good to me and outside of the factory pc setup,
everything is freeware!
Thanks for the clarification. I downloaded Pysolitaire awhile back
and its Mahjong is more fun and very challenging. :o)
