Hello,

Is there a program that would load up with windows at the startup, and then
with a combination of button clicks, (eg ctrl+k), would load up Word, go to
the floppy drive, and insert the first picture from the disk.

I ask as my dad needs to print out pictures in this way, but can't really
use a computer, so any help would be great.

TIA,

Anthony

Visit http://www.hiddensoft.com/autoit/

or come to

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/AutoItList/

we will take care of you... anything you can do manually, AutoIt can
do automatically...

You could put a shortcut to Word in the Startup menu. That would remove
one difficulty. You did not mention if there was a particular reason for
printing photos from Word. Is there?

If not, check out the Iomega Photo Printer - it is very easy to use. It
can resize and print multiple photos and/ or multiple copies or print
thumbprints - jpg or bmp formats only.

Download:
ftp://ftp.iomega.com/pub/english/photoprinter72web.exe

1089 KB - info and screenshots at:

The above web page is very informative - take a look and you should be
able to tell if this is a possible solution.

Ghost Mouse can be setup to do things automatically on startup. No
need for your father/you to learn scripting or be a programmer.

I wrote an AutoScriptWriter that hooks keyboard and mouse to
automatically write scripts... Kind of like ghost mouse... but, hmmm,
ghost mouse doesn't do keystrokes... too bad...

http://groups.yahoo.com/group/AutoItList/ grows by up to 20 members
every day, and of the 1200 members, I am guessing that 1150 of them do
not know how to program, yet they all write very successful scripts...
and with a simple GUI tool, many are even writing applications with
AutoIt...

But you keep yourself pigeon holed to a ray of light, and the rest of
us will enjoy the full spectrum of the sunrise...

Excellent. Can people NOT on the autoit list download it ? Or is it
only on yahoo.com ? If it is freely available elsewhere than yahoo
then could you please advise the download URL ? Thanks.

Most windows users use a mouse, rather than the keyboard, so it is
of no consequence to them. I have never found that a problem.

Nope, it's only in the files section of the yahoo group... Yahoo
recently changed their policy to require sign up to access files...
Probably better that way, cause I code better than I write help files.
So a joiner can ask all the ?s they want of me...
Most windows users use a mouse, rather than the keyboard, so it is

Sometimes hard to enter data in edit fields with the mouse...

Someday I'll get a partner that likes to write help files. But then
this stuff would grow too popular and lose it's family feel... Maybe
I'll keep the hush on AutoIt, it grows too fast as it is...

AutoIt3 is OpenSource-ish

Okay, a pity. Almost always when I attempt to download from the autoit
Yahoo site I cannot download eg. "couldn't connect to...
f4.grp.yahoofs.com/v1/UBKLP2W35kZCMT8C5n1TacizJ6l6ulPoV-W5CLAxQj_il"

or my downloads are corrupt, or in some other way useless.

Looks like I will miss out.

People I know who might have been interested in your program
will not be wanting to join a Yahoo list simply to download a single
file.

Even if they did they wouldn't know where to start. Whether to get
Func files, Misc files, Scripts files, Util files etc. Or all of the
above. Just visiting the files area alerts people to the great
complexity of the autoit program.

I am sure by complexity you mean popularity... And the AutoItList is
not for getting files, primarily. That is a bonus. The AutoItList is
for getting personal attention from dozens of experts, that answer
your every question at a moments notice... But, who wants that kind of
complexity... oh.. me

You can try PowerPro from http://www.windowspowerpro.com

Bit of a learning curve for you, but you can set it up to do what you
want, and much more.
