All you have to do is use a XP
Pro CD and boot from it (you may have to go into the BIOS and set the CD
to boot first, if you can not, just download and make the 6 boot
floppies)and then "Hit Enter to Install" when it comes up, then F8, and
then you will see another repair option, do the repair option only. Let it
go, and when it starts the first reboot, and you see the GUI. You
know...when it tells you how great XP is. Then hit "Shift + F10" and a
command prompt will show up. Then type. "net user administrator *" it
will then prompt you for a new password, put 123 and then ENTER and then
again. Just leave the repair go, and let it finish the repair install,
and when you are finished, just reboot and hit F8 and boot into safe
mode and log in as Administrator with your new password. Then from there
go to Start > Control Panel> User Profile> and click on the user and
remove the password. Then Restart the computer and there you have it. NO
MORE PASSWORD.

You have to love XP and how easy it is. :)

pass it on...

An even simpler method is to tap the F8 key during initial bootup,
select safe mode, then control panel, then user accounts. Do what you
have to do, add, delete, change etc, then reboot

That works only if you know, or if there is no Admin password (try it with
a password that you don't know).
Mine works no matter what, so you can get by the Admin password (even
changing it) so you can enter XP. Nice that the repair install will also
leave everything as it was (email accounts and so on)...to think without my
steps, the repair install would even leave the Admin passwords the same.

But if it's a Computer with a Admin Password and a User password that you
don't know, and you want to leave everything as it is on the computer
(other then the passwords, grin), then just follow my steps, and you'll
have what you want.

enjoy
