Repost (Sorry!!!)- What is Automation ID?

Sorry to repost but I posted a message yesterday and in one my replies I
said I had figured out the problem I meant to say I had figures it out.
I'm getting errors when I start to complete a control on a form that has a
has a format "ABCD"/000/0000;0;_ that says the Automation ID is not
available. What does this mean?

The control is on a main form and is used to link a number of subforms with
a control the same name. It is a next field, primary key but not autonumber.

Anyone help?

What's your table structure for this form? How is Automation ID derived if it
is not an autonumber? Have you tried to enter another control other than the
problem control and do you get the same error?
 
Sorry but I don't understand what the Automation ID is? Is it connected with
Autonumber fields. Whilst the control I mentioned isn't an autonumber there
is an index field in one of the tables which is the source of a control on
the subform that is an autonumber.
Sorry but as I said I don't understand what Automation is. Also why didn't I
get this problem when running the database with Access 2000 but get it with
Access 2003?

Did you save the 2000 version of the database in 2003 version?
Are all references the same between the 2000 version and the 2003 version if
you did?
