I didn't get reply to my yesterday's question -

I have added a subform to a form, but for some reason after I change the
field size, it doesn't take effect when I run the form. I want to enlarge the
width of some fields and also change the size of combo box display.

Can someone please point me to doc or help me out?

Thank you,
-Me

Roger,

The form is in Datasheet Mode, I think I tried in Continuous mode as well.

Thank you,

Dear Roger:

Congrats on the well-deserved recognition! And to TC (if you see this...)
and to *all* MVP's new and old - you are the best! Where would so many of us
be without you! :)

Cheers,
Fred Boer

P.S. Careful, you guys and gals... I hear the hazing rituals are fearsome!!

And, of course, thanks to *everyone*, MVP or not, who donates their
expertise so freely!! You are all deserving of thanks!

Cheers!
Fred

The reason I asked is that in Datasheet mode, you do the sizing while the
subform is running. Changing the size or placement of the form controls in
design view will not affect them. However, this is not the case in
Continuous view. In CV, you should be able to size and place your controls
in design view which, once saved, should stay when you run the form.

Try Continuous View again.

If you want to change the size on a datasheet view, then open the form
(not in design) change order and resize as desired and then close the
form.

Warning: If you have multiple subforms, then this has to be done ONE at
a time.

Roger deserves accolades and even others deserve thanks from me for helping
me from time to time.

However, I still haven't been able to resolve this issue completely. I am
able to resize the column as suggested by Roger, but it doesn't align the
label to the left on subform even though I have set the property for left
alignment. Any ideas?

Thanks again to Roger and everyone!

You really don't have much control over the format in Datasheet View, which
is why I usually use Continuous View. You can format CV to look nearly
identical to DV by butting the controls up against each other, move them to
the top of the Detail section, then snug the Footer bar up to the bottom.
Put the labels in the Form Header section and align them where you want.

If you have trouble disconnecting the label from the control to move them to
the Header section, one trick is to select the label, then CUT it (NOT
DELETE), then click in the Header and click PASTE. Then you can put it
where ever you what. (If you already know this, apologies.)

Hi Roger,

Thanks for your precise explanation. I changed it to CV and put the labels
in form header and rest of the stuff as you mentined. Keep up the good work
please!
