Reports print with blank spaces

I have a report that shows costs, by category, for injured
workers. When I turn off the details, and try to print
just summaries of each category, the report footer goes to
the next page, even if there is plenty of space available
on the first page. It does not seem to do this when I
print the details of each section.

Please let me know if it would be helpful to send the
report. Thanks for your help!

Hi Cheryl

What do you mean when you say, "when I turn off the details"? What are you
doing to achieve this?

The two ways I know - cancelling the Format event of the Details section,
and setting Me.Section(acDetails).Visible=False in the Open event - both
result in the next section being printed with no gap.

More info please :-)

I can make the details sections not visible, and only
print summaries. I do this by going to the properties
section of each group, and setting it as "no" under
visible. The report footer goes to the top of the next
page, even though there are several inches of space on the
first page. Is this enough info, or do you want me to
send you copy of the report? Thanks for your help,
CherylT.

Hi Cheryl

Your report footer section doesn't by any chance have its ForceNewPage
property set to "Before Section" does it?

Thanks for your reply. I've been out of town, so I just
now received your suggestion. Unfortunately, all my
footers are set to "none" on forcenewpage. Any other
suggestions? thanks,

Cheryl T.
