Reporting outlook Attachment Bug ??

Hi all

I think I've discovered a significant bug in Outlook 2003 - does MS have a facility to report these ?? If I start a new message and wish to attach a perfectly normal .zip file - the file does not appear in the dialog box listing the files. The file type is set to 'All Files (*.*)' and the file itself is not hidden. The only way I can attach it is to type the full directory and file name syntax in the File Name box

This has worked perfectly in all previous versions of Outlook

Any ideas ???

Hi,

I am not able to reproduce this problem. Can you provide more details on
your environment?

- Windows version
- Word as your editor
- 3rd party add-ins for Outlook
- version of Winzip installed
- anything else

Thanks

I am not able to reproduce this problem in this environment. So, I am at a
loss for why this might be occurring.

Happy to....

Windows XP Professional
Word is not my e-mail editor
Only 3rd party software - Spam Inspector
Winzip 8.1 (licensed version)

Windows and Office software bang up-to-date via the MS update sites

This is really weird and I've never seen it before. I can get the zip
files listed within all other MS and non MS software open dialogs - but not
with Outlook 2003

I'm slowly getting more data on this bug
It only manifests itself when a message is open - ie I am in the middle of a message, then switch over to Explorer to zip up a file. When I come back to the message, the attach dialog does not see the zip file. It does however show other files if they are copied or re-named in the same way (ie with the message open). The only way I can get Outlook to see the zip file, is to save the new message as a draft, close Outlook down, re-open Outlook, re-open the message - and then it works
What a hassle
So - how does one go about reporting such a bug - because it must be one !!
Thank

M

Grey,

I can repro with very precise steps but pressing F5 to refresh the dialog
displays the zip file. If you want to submit this as a bug you can send
detailed information to (e-mail address removed).

Hope this helps.
