I'm looking at established reports in Access97, that give
useful data, but not exactly how I want to view the data.

The support group has left the building, so I am solo.

how do I create a different way to view this data or a
different report altogether ?
 
A newsgroup isn't suitable for a beginner tutorial on how to create reports.
And, since we don't know what you have, or what you want, we'd have a
difficult time giving even a specific answer.

At http://www.microsoft.com/downloads, I think you'll find a sample database
dealing with working with reports. I know it is not a beginner's tutorial.

Look in the list of pages in the upper left hand corner for "Training".

There are report Wizards in (full retail) Access that will create a report
for you -- and then you can modify it in design view to more closely suit
your needs. In the database window, on the Reports tab, click New...
