Report printing problem

I have created a simple Access database for names and addresses. One of the
reports simply lists certain fields in tabular format. The layout is all
within the bounds of an A4 page and the printing appears to be entirely
normal EXCEPT each page requires two sheets. On the second sheet there is
one short horizontal line only.
I can see nothing in the layout to produce this behaviour - can anyone shed
any light??

Your report sections are too wide (or too long) to fit in the area defined
between your margin settings. That short horizontal line is likely the right
hand "piece" of a longer line you have inserted that is too wide to fit so a bit
of it spills over onto a second page.

You are actually fortunate to see "something" on the blank pages as many people
with this problem encounter additional pages that are completely blank which
makes seeing the problem a bit harder.

What you have to keep in mind is that it is the size of the report *sections*
that matters, not where your controls are positioned. Access is trying to print
the entire section as defined in design view, not just the visible controls
which might be placed well to the left of the section boundaries.

Thank you for the guidance, that did the trick! I seems that the default
layout is incorrect and needs considerable adjustment to correct the
problem.
